RokMe Inc. is the exclusive worldwide broker of the domain Power.com. In 2011, Power.com was being auctioned among an elite group of prospective international buyers competing to purchase this extraordinary domain asset.

Registration into the Power.com auction was strictly reserved for those entities and individuals possessing sufficient resources to acquire, brand and develop this unique domain. The minimum bid for Power.com was set at $2,500,000 (USD).

Project Introduction:
Innate Media Group was approached by RokMe Inc. to consult and prepare marketing materials, the online auction, and promotions for the international auction of Power.com.

Problem:
RokMe Inc. needed to develop a strong brand directed towards ultra high net worth individuals throughout the world. Among their branding requirements were the overall look and feel of the auction, an eye-catching website, marketing materials (including auction cards, information packages, and content), and a strategy to ensure the proper messages were being sent to buyers well in advance of the auction’s closing date.

Solution:
IMG researched ultra high net worth individuals to understand where they reside and how they would like to be approached. We then began consulting RokMe Inc. on the best way to approach potential buyers and developed the Power.com brand and the tools required to launch the auction website. While designing and developing the website, IMG began creating the necessary information packages and auction bid cards needed to launch the 3-month campaign.

Our Approach:
This project required a new approach from the IMG team. Prior to the Power.com campaign, IMG had never attempted to execute an international auction for such a highly coveted online property. Our approach was to prepare ourselves by conducting extensive research prior to signing on, as well as working very closely with RokMe Inc. to ensure our timelines and execution were properly managed and performed on-time.

Results/Benefits:
In terms of promotion, the Power.com auction received heavy international attention among domain brokers and technology insiders. Within days of the campaign launch, Power.com appeared in articles on such mainstream news websites like TechCrunch and Technorati.

Duration:
This campaign ran for 2 months, and IMG and RokMe Inc. continue to work closely together on various projects.
