LENZR
About:
LENZR.com is part of a growing trend of serial photo contest websites that collect and grade user generated content. These contests work, in part, because they foster a two-way dialogue between participants and sponsor brands. LENZR is a proven social media tool that is changing the way businesses market themselves online.

Project Introduction:
The LENZR brand has been greatly successful for a couple years, but required a complete re-brand for their June 2011 relaunch. Due to the great success of LENZR 1.0, IMG was brought back in to prepare the online upgrades needed to take the company to the next level.

Problem:
LENZR.com is considered a leader in the serial photo contest industry since June 2009, but in 2011 required some major upgrades in terms of functionality, look and feel, and the development of a easily manageable community directly on the website. Furthermore, LENZR requested a more visually appealing interface to highlight the many businesses that sponsor the photo contests.

Back end: Ajax, XML, PHP, MySQL, Wordpress, IPB forms, Universal login, widgets

Solution:
IMG worked closely with the LENZR team to design and develop a new scaleable website that was built for easier interactions within the community. It began by re-branding the look and feel of all marketing materials, and then moving on to developing a user-friendly online experience that includes editable profiles, advanced photo galleries, custom widgets, private messaging system, community photo contests, and an all new rewards system to adds value to serious contest-goers.

Our Approach:
Because IMG had worked extensively on the original LENZR 1.0, we were well versed in how the tool worked and where improvements were needed. Detailed research on social media trends and how previous contest participants interacted with one another was required. Once IMG understood the tendencies of LENZR users, we were then able to re-shape the entire environment to appeal to a greater audience.

Result/Benefits:
Within a month of the LENZR 2.0’s launch in June 2011, the website has seen an increase in traffic of over 100%. Not only has participation within the community increased, but the requests from businesses to sponsor LENZR contests has led to an overwhelming demand that continues to add more and more value to the overall social media tool. LENZR.com is now an even more powerful marketing tool for business in Canada, and around the world.

Duration:
The strategy, re-brand, design and development of LENZR 2.0 took 4 months to achieve. IMG and LENZR continue to work closely on various projects.
